Smart door status detection for enhanced protection and automation.
The Tedee Door Sensor detects whether a door is open or closed and displays this status in real time via the Tedee app, alongside the current state of the smart lock. The device consists of two components – a sensor and a magnet – mounted on the door leaf and door frame, on the interior side.
By verifying the door’s position by measuring the distance between the sensor and magnet, the device prevents automatic locking when the door is open. It can also trigger alerts if the door remains open for an extended period and may log all door openings and closings in the device activity history. Remote functionality requires integration with a Wi-Fi-connected Tedee Bridge.
Installation is quick and non-invasive, using pre-applied adhesive pads. The device is powered by a CR2032 battery, providing up to two years of maintenance-free operation.
