Tedee smart lock is compatible with three-point locking systems. However, auto-lock and remote unlocking features will not be available in setups requiring the door handle to be raised to close the door.

This extra step of unlocking the door makes the smart lock work as if you push the handle. So if your door opens to the inside, you can enter your home complete hands-free, just by pushing the door. The decision about relying on a cloud was extensively debated. However, after realizing how much security it allows us to introduce, we have decided it is the safest and most reliable solution. We are considering making an offline version, but we cannot confirm if and when it would be available. Here you can find more information on the security of the smart lock.

We're sorry, but not right now. Both smart lock and adapters are available in black and silver versions, designed to fit many interior designs. 

In this case, you can open the lock from the outside with a standard key. From the inside, you can open it manually with a doorknob or by pressing a smart lock button. You can also configure its automatic locking, but you need to use a smartphone to set that at least once.

Fortunately, the protocol we use (TLS 1.3 and SHA 256) is almost impossible to brute-force. Furthermore, even in extreme situations, our Azure Active Directory cloud serves as another encryption tool by checking the device's communication certificate. Yes! We made sure to make it an important case and decided to use an online cloud to store user data and keep it only in assigned tokens. Therefore none of your details used for operating a smart lock is stored online. However, with your permission, we may use your information for marketing purposes. These are independent of your smart lock data, and you can always unsubscribe from marketing contacts. 

You can still handle traditional keys for use from the outside. On the inside, the tedee smart lock might work as a standard manual knob. We suggest that a couple of days before your guests' arrival, you send them a message with short instructions to install an app, make an account, and links to our website. You can create this notice once and use it with multiple bookings.

The bridge is a small device installed up to 2m away from your door. It connects to your smart lock via Bluetooth and to the internet through home Wi-Fi. 

Using a bridge is how you get all of the smart lock benefits - but it's not required. Read more on our smart lock blog. 

Yes, you can connect as many smart locks as you want - as long as they are up to 2m away from the bridge. This way, you can usually use just one bridge in corridors and other multidoor spaces.

No, it's not necessary. But a bridge connects your smart lock to the internet - giving you many perks of remote control, real-time notifications, and automatic updates. Read more.

The bridge should be placed up to 2m away from the smart lock and within the Wi-Fi range. Ideally, the space between your bridge and smart lock should not be obstructed by heavy objects that interfere with the Bluetooth signal. See our smart lock blog for more information on installing a bridge.
