Every family member can enter in their favourite way. If kids don’t have smartphones yet, they can use just a PIN. Grandparents are always welcome to use a standard key - and you have all kinds of unlocking methods.

Is it safe?
Yes. It's approved by independent AV-Test as a secure smart home product. tedee uses a multi-level encryption mechanism and asymmetric keys for cloud authentication. The Bluetooth connection is handled through a secure protocol. Sounds complicated, and it is. You can compare these solutions to online banking protection.
What if my phone’s dead?
You can always unlock with a single traditional key that you keep in your wallet. Or borrow a smartphone from your neighbour, download the tedee app, log in and unlock it normally. It’s enough to log out afterwards. If you install a tedee keypad, it’s enough to enter the PIN – with no need for a smartphone or an app. Got more questions like this? They’re probably answered here.
Does it fit my door?
If your lock cylinder is of European, Nordic, or Swiss-type, and the distance between the keyhole and the door frame is above 30mm - then most likely yes! Watch a quick checklist video here or read a thorough overview of requirements.
Can I use it with a smart home system?
Of course! With over 15 smart home standards from all around the world. Check them all here. You can also integrate tedee with Apple HomeKit, Hey Google, and Amazon Alexa.
What do I need to buy?
tedee smart lock is the start. You need to install it on your door with dedicated hardware: a compatible cylinder or adapter. Then there are add-ons. You can enjoy all remote features with a tedee smart bridge that connects your lock to Wi-Fi. Read more about it on our blog. You can also add a smart keypad, making it easy to enter using a PIN.
